I love doing school visits. I talk to children about my experience of becoming a writer. about doing research and about constructing stories. I’ve done stand up comedy in the past so my visits are interactive, entertaining and make children laugh. I can do an assembly talk for the whole school, accompanied by a Powerpoint presentation which includes .gifs and videos, and writing workshops for single classes.
Since I started writing at 7 and sold my first play at 11, I know that childen want to write and can do it at a high level. I hope to inspire them to do this.
I live in London so my school visit range is roughly an hour’s drive, but I am willing to explore electronic visits for schools farther afield.
