Tim Before
Tim was born in Northumberland and studied graphic design and illustration at Newcastle College of Art and Exeter College of Art.
He has been an illustrator for thirty years, and has done illustrations for more than 100 books! He works in pen and ink and watercolour. Lately, he’s started writing and illustrating his own books. I love the title of his 4th and latest, Bagpipes, Beasties and Bogles. It’s both funny and frightening. And it also explains the origins of the bagpipes!
He’s also worked for the Tower of London, the Museum of London, the National Maritime Museum and Cardiff Castle.
His favourite work is in Bob and the House Elves written by Emily Rodda, Pig in Love written by Viv French and Zesty written by Sam McBratney.
Tim now lives near Kelso in the Scottish Borders.
